Michael Phelps did it again, for the eight time!

There was no stopping Michael Phelps in his bid to break the record for the most number of gold medals in a single Olympics, previously held by Mark Spitz with seven medallions. Yes, this real-life aquaman just made history by bagging eight golds, seven of which are world records, making him the most successful Olympian and a role model for people who aspire to be just like him.

At my age, it may be embarrassing to say that I don't know how to swim. I love the beach, but with this lack of skill, I go out only till the point where I can still feel the earth on my feet. I only wade, and that's about how close I call myself to swimming. Now hearing of somebody who does know how to and is good at it--even this may sound as an understatement--I am now even more motivated to get meself a pair of goggles with Speedos to match (now that must be a sight to see.. weheh) and head out to the beach in the rainy season and start to swim. Swimming like the way he does is a way long shot, but improving on my wading would be a nice start (hehe).

Man, eight gold medals in one event and one Olympic, you're not human. And I mean that as a compliment. You make people, swimmers and non-swimmers, aspire and aim for their personal bests. Congratulations!
