Withdrawal Blues

It’s not what you think [evil laughter]. But don’t you hate it when you badly needed to get some funds off the ATM that you have to file yourself in a long line and then wait and wait and wait some more for this one person who is on the machine doing withdrawal transactions and taking such a long time at it? I do, and earlier I wasted close to 15 minutes doing so.

Could it be so hard? Get your ATM card from your wallet, insert it onto the slot, input your PIN, press the balance inquiry, wait for some seconds, press withdraw, wait for some seconds, get your fresh-off-the-vault money and leave? It usually takes me less than a minute to do all that, but for some, it’s a different matter.

I’ve seen some whom you know the very moment they step in front of that ATM are first-timers. They usually have that I-don’t-know-how-to look, with the smile and the head scratching and then after some mauling over, ask the person behind them for instructions. They’d even give out their PIN! Then there are those who are sort of in a withdrawal craze, that they seem to be draining their saving accounts of all their funds, making about three withdrawals in one standing. And almost forgot, those that are just plain stupid. Awhile back, it was a combination of all these. No wonder the 15 minutes of wasted time.
