Laundry-Free

Thankfully, a laundry shop just opened in the neighborhood. This time around, I don't have to slave myself doing my own laundry.

As much as possible I'd like to wash my own clothes, but with what happened to an expensive Levi's that I had, its color fading perhaps with the strong laundry soap that I used or my ineptitude as a labandero most like it (lol), I've been asking around if we have professional laundry shops somewhere. With the relatively "developing" community where I'm from, I thought those kind of establishments were unheard of.

I've had my clothes "professionally" taken care of before when I was in my internship days in college because as a student, laundry time was alloted instead to burning the midnight candles (kunu) and laundry services for us were just convenient albeit pricey. I am still willing to do my own laundry, I even prefer that in fact. I admit, I'm not that good yet I manage fine. But now, I'll just have the professionals do it.

The one in our neighborhood, Labandera Shoppe (now you get a free advertising! Lang discount? Hehe), they charge P25/kilo, but for mattresses, bed linens, the way I see it, anything big really, they charge almost three times that amount. I'm not worried with the latter as I can just make babad and banlaw, end of story (lol). It's more the clothes that I'm worried about, and I'm willing to pay whatever amount as long as they come back clean, good-smelling, and complete as sometimes they forget a t-shirt or a pair of socks, and you'll just be surprised to find somebody else's underwear included with yours.
