Heath Ledger Dead at 28

I was going about my business at the office, researching and stuff when a little news snippet on MSN caught my eye. Heath Ledger, the guy from “Brokeback Mountain” is dead.

My curiosity was really piqued as we seldom hear a celebrity at the prime of his age and the peak of his career--he was to star opposite Christian Bale in the upcoming Batman franchise “The Dark Knight” as The Joker--meeting an untimely demise from an unclear and a rather “controversial” mean. He was found naked with prescribed sleeping pills nearby. That particular info alone has made some speculate, at least I do, that it may have been an accidental overdose or suicide.

What a tragic day this is for all of Hollywood. I’m not a fan--in fact it was only “Brothers Grimm” that I saw from beginning to end--but this made me realize that everybody is headed there, death. That tonight when you go to bed, it might be your last. You may never wake up to see the dawn of another day. Or that tomorrow something unfortunate will happen that will take the very thing you hold dear, life. I don’t want to sound grim, but this is the truth. No matter how hard you try to stay from it, it will come. You really never know when the Grim Reaper starts heading down your doorstep. I guess we just have to live life the best we could while we’re here.

Anyway, I’ll leave with a snippet from Wikipedia that I saw earlier. At first it brought a smile to my face, “Who would have thought of something like this?” But given what just happened, I now find it downright disrespectful.

Sidenote: If you can remember, an actor, Brad Renfro who played the young Mark Sway in John Grisham’s “The Client,” was also found dead at his home last January 15, the reason of which is yet to be disclosed.
